Merry Christmas

As most of the world is aware, Michael Jackson “The King of Pop” died on the 25th of June 2009.

I can’t begin to express the shock of hearing this devastating news, as like most of the world, I grew up listening to his music, and like many others I even used to try and do the moon walk in the family lounge room while singing along with his music.

Michael Jackson was an icon, he created his own version of Pop Music, and he was idolised around the globe by all walks of life, and all religions, His on stage performances are still unmatched to this very day, he will be sadly missed.

Our hearts go out to those who were fortunate enough to be a part of Michael’s life, his Family, his Friends and especially his Children.

The world needs to remember that Michael Jackson was more than just an entertainer, he was a friend, he was a son, he was a brother, but most importantly he was a father.

Michael Jackson wasn’t perfect, he made mistakes, but he was also human and we have all made mistakes.

I hope that he is now at peace, so that his children can learn to deal with the tragic loss of their father, and start to rebuild their lives.

Let’s not focus on the past, focus on the legend himself, let his incredible musical talent live on forever in our homes and in our hearts.

Unlike the rest of the globe, Australia was fortunate enough to dodge the looming recession, but that doesn’t mean that we escaped unharmed, we still had many businesses go bankrupt, and many, many people have lost there jobs, and are facing financial ruin, but what should the rest of us do?

The first thing to learn about recessions is that the upward spiral can be a rough one, following a recession you have a boom, and what work needs to be done to capitalize on a boom?

Marketing, Just because you have managed to survive the tough economic times, doesn’t mean that you’ll continue to be in business, the key is to discover, A) who is your target market 7 B) how can you reach this market.

The first one isn’t as hard as you may think, for example, the target market for Invision Signs is business people, so it would be a pointless excercise for us to do a letter drop to every hose in our area, most homes would see the flyer as junk mail and not even look at it before it goes in the bin, Businesses however are statisticly more likely to atleast read the fler first, we may be advertising something that, at that point in time they don’t need, but this may change in the future, so alot of these people, will put the flyer aside and refer to it at a later date. This would be a very affective marketing tool for oue business.

Now how do you reach your market, Once you have established who your market is, next you need to decide how it is that you are going to reach them!

For example, if your target market is families with children, your best time to advertise might be at a local children’s sporting event, so you might like to look into sponsering a local children’s sporting team, that way you get your company logo and contact details in the fixtures book for all the parents to read, or you might negotiate with the club to have you company logo, and myber your catch phrase printed onto all th players shirts, or how about sposering the facility where the sports are played. In most cases there are a number of sporting clubs and types that share a particular sporting facility, so if you where to sponser that facility you cold get a sign made with your company logo and/or catchphrase on it, and have that strategically placed somwhere within the grounds of the facility, where there is going to be a high volume audience that is going to see this sign on a continual basis. So this might be another good way for you to market your business & help out a local sporting team or facility with some times much needed funds.

2008 is almost at an end, it is hard to believe that we are hurtling towards the end of another year.

As the big day approaches, we must advise people that due to high demand any orders that are required BEFORE Christmas will need to be place no later than Tuesday November 26^th for delivery on Friday 19^th of December, any orders placed after this date cannot be guaranteed delivery before the end of the year.
